剛開始時一次餵食一種食物,每2-4天增加一種新食物。

隨著時間增加餵食固體食物的份量及次數。

從一天一次餵食1-2茶匙,再慢慢增加。

一些寶寶開始進食固體食物時可選擇的優良食物為:

Vegetables (potato, pumpkin, kumara, kamokamo, cassava), bought baby food, baby cereal, rice, bowls of meat and legumes, fruit (apple, pear, mango, banana)

豐鐵嬰兒麥片/米精

Baby cereal

煮熟成糊狀的牛肉、羊肉、豬肉、雞肉或魚肉或素食選擇(如煮熟成糊狀的扁豆)

Bowls of beef, lamb, pork, legumes

去皮、果核或種子的水果泥─蘋果、梨、芒果 (如必要可煮過使其軟化)

Fruit (apple, mango, pear, banana)

煮熟成糊狀、去皮、種子或核的蔬菜─地瓜、毛利瓜、南瓜、馬鈴薯、木薯、樹薯
