About Paediatric Society of New Zealand

The Paediatric Society of New Zealand believes all children and youth should, by right, attain optimal physical, mental and social health and well being. By working as a coordinated national network of health professionals the Paediatric Society dedicates its efforts and resources to this end.

The Paediatric Society is working to:

  • advocate for the health, wellbeing and social environment of children and young people, consistent with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

  • plan for the development of all aspects of child and youth healthcare

  • promote quality health care and disease prevention initiatives that interlink to form a cohesive network

  • establish standards, guidelines, and processes of audit and evaluation

  • provide and publish information for health care professionals and families (such as the content on this website)
